On New Year's Resolutions
It's that time of the year again

On the time of publishing, today is the third day of 2024 - which means that a lot of people have made new year's resolutions. I have participated in this tradition in the past and I will admit I still will participate this year.
However, I am a struggling perfectionist. I don't want to create goals that are too "perfect" that success is black and white. In other words, screw SMART goals - I'd rather have vague goals this year.
So many happened in the year 2023 that while some of my new year's resolutions this year didn't work out (I wanted to work in the finance field for one), I did like how it turned out overall. I still grew as a person and I don't think I could have foreseen some of the changes that happened.
For me, new year's resolutions are simply a commitment to improve myself. So while I see articles on "how to set successful resolutions" everywhere, I already appreciate and expect that my plans will not work out the first time I planned them.
Also, for everyone else: they're New Year Resolutions not January resolutions. You can always start at February, March, or even June.
